GuĆa de Estudio / Study Guide
When delivering a presentation or lecture in Spanish, structure is key. We divide public speaking speech formulas into two critical functional groups:
1 Empezar / Starting a Presentation
Key phrases used to greet, welcome, and express initial gratitude at the start of your speech:
Buenas tardes, seƱoras y seƱores.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
Bienvenidos a todas y todos.
Welcome to everyone.
QuerĆa darles la bienvenida a…
I wanted to welcome you to…
Gracias por haberme invitado.
Thank you for having invited me.
Muchas gracias por haber venido.
Thank you very much for coming.
Me alegro de poder presentarles hoy…
I’m glad to present to you today…
2 Terminar / Ending a Presentation
Lexicon to conclude the talk, show final gratitude, and open the Q&A session:
Muchas gracias por su atención.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Les agradezco mucho su interĆ©s…
I thank you for your interest…
Ha sido un placer estar aquĆ.
It has been a pleasure to be here.
Si quieren hacer preguntas, con mucho gusto.
If you want to ask questions, with pleasure.
Tip extra de oratoria / Presentation Tip:
Use “En primer lugar…” (First of all) or “Hoy me gustarĆa hablarles sobre…” (Today I would like to talk to you about…) to transition smoothly from your greeting to your main arguments.
