1. ¿Qué?
- Used for definitions or explanations.
- Used directly before a noun (What book? = ¿Qué libro?).
2. ¿Cuál / Cuáles?
- Used for choices or selection from a group.
- Used before the verb ser (when not asking for a definition).
- Never used directly before a noun in most dialects (use “qué” instead).
