1 Position Matters

Adjectives usually go after the noun, but moving them before changes the meaning:

After (Literal/Physical):
Un hombre grande = A big man (tall/heavy).
Before (Emotional/Subjective):
Un gran hombre = A great man (admirable).

2 Apócope (Shortening)

Some adjectives drop their ending when placed BEFORE a masculine singular noun.

Full Form	Short Form	Meaning
Grande	Gran	Great / Big
Bueno	Buen	Good
Malo	Mal	Bad

* Feminine nouns NEVER trigger the shortening! (Una gran idea / Una buena idea)
